South Beach Diet

It defines bad carbs and fats, and replaces them with good carbs and fat. It's all about rebalancing the amounts of foods you eat into the 'correct' portions.

What Can I Eat

It's about lean meats, fruit and vegetables, and about re-educating your body about it's carbohydrate requirements. The first two weeks is the most difficult stage - there's no bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, fruit, alcohol or sugar of any kind.

Pros

  • Lean meats, vegetables and fruit (after the first two weeks) - it's all healthy stuff
  • You can follow the diet online if you would like more guidance - a personal profile will be created for you

Cons

  • There's no bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, fruit, alcohol or sugar for the first two weeks!
  • You will need to follow the eating guide permanently to maintain weight-loss

Our Verdict

Another healthy, low-fat eating plan, but that first 2 weeks is make or break. Very strong will-power required in the initial phases.
