Carbohydrate Addict's Diet
This diet is based on the theory that as many as 85% of people are prone to becoming addicted to carbohydrates, craving food even when not hungry.
What Can I Eat
Throughout the day carbohydrate intake is severely restricted apart from your daily "reward meal". The reward meal allows you to eat an equal amount of non-starch vegetables, carbs and protein, with the whole meal being consumed within an hour. Snacking is not allowed and for those who like milk or cream with their coffee, this is restricted to one cup a day.
Pros
- You are not denying yourself any food group.
- Unusual to feel hunger
- You can have a glass of wine or a beer so long as it is within the hour of the reward meal.
Cons
- For weight-loss it is important to keep portion sizes sensible.
- Like Atkins diet there can be side effects such as tiredness, bad breath.
Our Verdict
